Wedding at Venue By Three Petals, Huntington Beach | Vanessa & Enrique

Vanessa and Enrique's big day was one for the books: filled with culture, love, and warmth.
When I first spoke with the couple, they told me about their wedding vision reflecting a Mexican Hacienda style. Bearing Mexican roots myself, this got me super excited for the day. I was really looking forward to covering it! Not only that, but I got to know Enrique and Vanessa during their engagement session and then Enrique's graduation photos, and I instantly felt a connection to this beautiful (inside and out) couple.
On the day of, I first headed to the Hyatt Regency at Huntington Beach for the getting-ready pictures of our bride of the day. Vanessa had chosen an embellished, mermaid-style gown from Styled by TC. She donned a smokey black-eye look that paired beautifully with her gown.
The bridesmaids' dresses from Birdy Grey were a mix of orange and taupe, which was also the dominant color palette of the wedding. The groom, Enrique, wore a sleek black tux and an olive blazer while the groomsmen were in all black. This accentuated the design's warmth while staying true to the Hacienda color combinations.
In the spirit of being traditional, Vanessa and Enrique did away with the first look. Instead, Vanessa had one with her dad, which was very special and heartfelt.
For the wedding, Vanessa and Enrique chose St. Boniface Church in Anaheim for their ceremony, which exuded tradition and elegance. The couple opted for a Catholic mass, and what a nice touch to have a mariachi group play periodically during the ceremony. The church was breathtaking and even looked quite regal under the glow of the chandeliers and stained glass windows.
After Vanessa and Enrique uttered their "I do's," it was time for the portraits. The lush greens of Huntington Central Park offered stunning backdrops, and the couple's love shone through the pictures. The natural lighting gave so much warmth to the photos, but the black and white versions brought out their essence the most.
For the reception, we headed to Venue by Three Petals. Located in Huntington Beach, California, this beautiful space had an open layout perfect for large guest counts, an amazing chandelier with lush greenery and flowers, and elegant decor that provided the perfect backdrop for Vanessa and Enrique's special day. H & L Lovely Creations was fantastic at planning everything to look beautiful and run smoothly.
The Mariachi band warmly welcomed all the guests (all 400 of them!). The Petal Exchange did a splendid job with the flowers by combining bright-colored garden roses and peonies. True to a Hacienda-style wedding, the decor had splashes of terracotta orange everywhere. The tablescape was phenomenal, and there were desserts of every possible variety you can think of! My absolute favorite decor idea was the Mexican tiles that were used as escort cards.
The reception was turned up a notch once Banda El Coronel got on the stage, and the dance floor was full to the brim! Later in the evening, Enrique's family changed into cultural attire and performed a traditional Oaxacan dance. It was heartwarming to see Mexican culture reflected in this way. I truly loved being a part of this wedding.
I wish Vanessa and Enrique an incredible honeymoon in Europe and a very happy married life!
