Outdoor wedding ceremony at The Oaks at Duncan Lane in Temecula, California — Claryssa & Brendon | The Oaks At Duncan Lane

One of my favorite spots for wedding photography is nature havens tucked far away from the city bustle. This summer, I got to experience one of these magical marvels when I was at The Oaks at Duncan Lane for Claryssa's and Brendon's wedding.

Getting Ready

When you step inside The Oaks At Duncan Lane, the first thing that you'd inevitably notice is a grand entrance with towering oak trees. If you're always drowning in the city noises like me, the serenity of the venue will pull you in. It's a beautiful getaway and a stark contrast to the LA central city.

After soaking in nature for a few minutes, I headed to the bridal suite to photograph our bride of the day, Claryssa. The bridal suite inside The Oaks was exquisite. The airy room was finely lit, with a comfy lounge and plush seating. Claryssa was with her bridesmaids (all dressed in emerald green gowns) and loved ones.

She chose a white V-neck gown with a floral lace overlay. She accessorized with simple emerald green stud earrings and a bracelet. Her makeup of berry shades finessed her overall look. She exuded a calming beauty, which I showcased in the pictures through soft tones.

Our groom, Brendon, wore a crisp burgundy Armani tux and an emerald green Gucci tie. The bride and groom's outfits matched perfectly and complemented each other in all respects.

The Ceremony

Claryssa and Brendon chose an outdoor ceremony. The beautiful backdrop of overhanging trees gave a serene feeling, while the geometric wooden arch with bright florals reminded you that this was also a festive occasion. The processional was romantic and mellow, thanks to music by the Couture Strings. As Claryssa walked down the aisle with the fairy lights twinkling around her, Brendon couldn't help but smile. The moment was one to be frozen forever.

After many laughs and heart-eyed gazes, the couple uttered their "I do's." The crowd cheered, and hugs from family ensued. Afterwards I took the opportunity to capture some candid shots while making sure to steal the couple away for portraits. The lush greenery of The Oaks At Duncan Lane offered plenty of cottagecore, fairytale picturesque spots — which I fully utilized. "Ethereal" is an adjective that barely covers the magic in the air.

The Reception

The couple also chose an outdoor spot at The Oaks At Duncan Lane for the reception. My favorite receptions are outdoors -- not only because they are pretty but also for the natural lighting. The photos turn out enchanting as we mix camera flash with ambient light.

A Nothing Bundt Cakes cake awaited the couple. More emeralds, reds, and whites dotted the decor. The couple arranged for a scrumptious spread of beautiful, multicolored desserts for the guests.

Both families were so fun to be around! The dance floor was never empty, even as the stars blanketed the sky. I loved being part of this beautiful event.
