Engagement at Pasadena City Hall | Monique & Josh
In the movie The Princess diaries, teen-aged Mia explained, “You know, in the old movies, whenever a girl would get seriously kissed, her foot would just kind of… pop.” I don’t know the science behind it, but I find it wonderfully romantic when soon-to-be brides find the one who makes them swoon.
And Monique found the one for her. In their engagement session, Josh swept Monique off her feet and didn’t hesitate to plant those kisses. They are so sweet together (and very photogenic). As a couple, they have a timeless, classic style, so we headed to historic Pasadena City Hall for some gorgeous photos.
When you think of City Hall, you probably imagine an old, run down complex intended for business. But Pasadena City Hall is like no other! The magnificent building was constructed in 1927, and its preserved architecture represents the “City Beautiful” movement during the 1920s. City Hall’s famous dome, breezy passageways, courtyard oasis, and cathedral windows have made it a sought-after location for film and photography.
For Monique and Josh’s engagement session, we went during a less-crowded time for some intimate, unforgettable photos. I always want to give my clients the best experience possible, and I love thinking out-of-the-box. After getting to know this special couple, I realized that City Hall fit their style perfectly. These photos are far from the standard save-the-date pictures—these are historic and memorable, and I hope they last a lifetime, worthy of being passed on and displayed over the years.
