Editorial Styled Shoot at Iron Manor, Houston

This summer, I traveled to Houston, Texas, to cover one of the most gorgeous styled shoots I’ve ever been a part of. The venue for this editorial-styled photoshoot was the iconic Iron Manor in Houston, Texas.
As a photographer, I love styled shoots because it lets me explore my creative side and hone my craft. The styled shoot at Iron Manor offered me a beautiful opportunity to play around with new angles and perspectives, especially when I’ve never scouted this place before.
The Iron Manor is a quaint, industrial, Victorian-style building at the heart of Houston. Nestled amid towering trees, the Iron Manor gets its name from the rugged ironwork on its exterior. The vintage elements of the building provide a captivating contrast to the lush green background creating a stunning view for photography.
The décor and design for the photoshoot were in pastels with beige undertones. The floral arrangement by Camellia Farm Flora was simply sensational. They rounded up the most colorful roses and peonies for the bouquet. They also made two tall green pillars with these beautiful flowers popping in between. I loved the creativity, which certainly provided enchanting backdrops for pictures.
The couple we worked with for the shoot was a real-life couple too, which made my job of photographing them much more fun. Dressed in a starry off-shoulder gown from Weddings By Debbi, the bride looked ethereal (quite literally, like an angel from heaven). The groom was dressed in a black tuxedo with a beige rose pinned to his front pocket, which carried the beige accents from the overall designs.
The pictures turned out to be magical — thanks to the couple’s love for each other and a mystical interplay of light and space. The decor added to the splendor of the pictures. From the wedding invites in pastel pink and creamy beige to the towering cake with gold accents to the classic Cadillac adorned with white roses — everything in this styled shoot connected like a drama starring the couple as the lead actors.
The Iron Manor’s vintage yet modern feel with lots of white space served as an elegant blank canvas to design the wedding of your dreams. I’m so grateful for having this opportunity to be the woman behind the lens for this breathtaking photoshoot!
